Max Power Hour: A complete athletic workout designed to strengthen, condition and define the muscles like nothing else can. Power Max 10 is the fastest way to get in shape. There are 10 songs designated to a different body part. You will use the barbell and a set of dumbbells to train the entire body in one hour. This is a weight training class assigned for aerobic studio.
Spinning: A stationary cycling class that combines rhythmic control training, with popular athletic drills! This dynamic workout uses rhythmic training as active aerobic recovery drills, while capitalizing the intensity of athletic performance drills. This interval-style workout provides the foundations to establish the appropriate workload and recovery period related to heart rate training. Spinning is an hour workout.
Kickboxing: Kickboxing is a whole body workout that combines elements of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics to provide overall physical conditioning and toning. Unlike other types of kickboxing, cardio kickboxing does not involve physical contact between competitors - it's a cardiovascular workout that's done because of its many benefits to the body.
Bootcamp: A class that will challenge your cardio level and increase your strength, flexibility and agility. May include the BOSU ball, step, skipping ropes and hand weights. All levels welcome.
Pilates: Introducing the Pilates method to Core Studio. This class is designed as a progressive mat Class. The movements focus on core stability and control. Postural muscles are emphasized. Stretching and mobility movements begin the class, followed by a variety of classical mat exercises. Pilates "provides gentle, non-impact exercises that built the abdominal muscles to stabilize the spine, protect the lower back and strengthen the buttocks." Anyone at any fitness level can participate.
Zumba: Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythm and easy to follow moves to create a program that will blow you away! The routines feature interval training session where fast and slow rhythm and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Join the party!
Steel Spine: The ultimate spinal strengthening class is devoted to understanding, managing, and conquering your back pain. Whether you are a 'first timer' or an 'old timer' suffering from back pain or would like to prevent it from occurring this class will make you more resilient and get your spine back functioning properly.
Kettle Bell: The Kettlebell is a cast iron weight looking somewhat like a cannonball with a handle. Unlike traditional dumbbells, the kettlebell's center of mass is extended beyond the hand. This allows for swing movements not possible with traditional dumbbells. Because more muscle groups are utilized in the swinging and movement of a kettlebell than during the lifting of dumbbells (particularly posterior chain and core muscles), a kettlebell workout is to be more effective, and yields better results in less time.
Cardio Mixer: Each week the instructor will take you through a different cardio workout incorporating a variety of equipment-STEP, BOSU, skipping ropes, free weights, hand weights, medicine balls and tubing. Core work, ply metric exercise, step intervals and muscle conditioning may be included in this one hour guaranteed to sweat workout. All levels welcome.
Mix It Up: A premier total body workout, this class includes 20 minutes or cardiovascular conditioning in the form of step. Kickboxing, or hi/low aerobics. 20 minutes of strength training using hand held weights and or bars, and 20 minutes of lower body toning (abdominals, buttocks, hips, thighs.) All levels welcome.
H.A.B.I.T.S. : Habits, Abs, Butts Intense Thighs is a combination of lower body exercises that work all of these areas using a variety of equipment from free weights, to bands to body bars. Full of energy and non-stop movements that will tone and change your shape.
Hatha Yoga & Sunrise Hatha Yoga: A form of yoga that teaches techniques related to the physical control of the body. With its emphasis on body postures (asana) and movements that include stretching and holding, hatha yoga also incorporates breathing exercises (pranayama). Hatha yoga is generally described as the mother of all yoga styles, with other styles based on the same system, but with each bringing in their own, slightly different emphasis. The postures practiced in Hatha yoga are designed to deepen the awareness and centre the body and mind.
Restorative Yoga: Beginners Welcome! This gentle, calming class uses supported poses, breath work and sound to release tension and activate the body's natural healing system. Approximately four to six "easy" poses are experienced during each class allowing you to gently and comfortably relax and release. Leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed.
Ashtanga Flow Yoga: A deeply meditative and fluid practice, students will explore pranayama and the integration of movement and breath in a flowing series of postures inspired by Ashtanga Yoga. This practice creates a deep internal heat, purifying the body on a cellular level, quieting the mind, awakening a dynamic internal dance and a deep sense of vibrant stillness.
Yin Yang: This class is a beautiful marriage of yin and yang, surrender and effort, Ha (sun) and tha (moon). The practice of yin/yang yoga helps us learn about stillness in movement and the flow in stillness. The ability to surrender to your yin practice becomes engrained in you and carries over into your yang practice. You will find more energy flowing at deeper levels, so you are more flexible and require less warm-up. As a result you will de-crease the risk of injury, and go deeper with less effort
Pil-oga: is a unique and effective form of fusion training. This powerful combination of Pilates and Yoga will tone and strengthen the body while reducing stress. Members can look forward to a multi-level class focused on breath, alignment, endurance and over-all balance.
